In an era without fuel known as Dry World, humanity has formed groups who hold different morals and values. These communities known as Families maintain order in a fractured world.

Peace is severed when one of the Families, the Julius, manage to create their own fuel: Vitality. It is more powerful than anything the world has seen. This propels their control over the other Families, pulling the entire world into a war that demonstrates humanity’s greed and wickedness.

This story follows a diverse cast:

A bounty hunter, still haunted from the previous war

Brother and sister refugees, the last survivors of their Family

A banished girl, clinging to what little she has left

A dying assassin on his final mission

A prince who abandoned his throne to serve as a soldier.

In the wake of the ensuing war, these outcasts are forced away from their homes. Without Family, they need each other to survive, and must set aside differences to find their place in Dry World.

While doing so they learn: even from different Families, they have more in common than they initially believed.
